Our Staff

Benjamin Thurn is the Program Manager for Media Literacy at American Councils, where he leads the development and design of online courses, workshops, and teacher trainings that focus on media, news, misinformation, and digital literacies. He is passionate about media education and emerging storytelling technology like artificial intelligence and virtual reality. He has worked and taught in over 15 countries and currently resides in Minneapolis, MN.

Hannah Hurlbut is a Program Officer for Media Literacy at American Councils, where she assists with the development and design of online courses, workshops, and teacher trainings that focus on media, news, misinformation, and digital literacies. She is passionate about media education, social media marketing, and international communication in various in-person and online formats. She received her M.A. in Taiwan via the Fulbright Program and currently resides in Washington, DC.
